Jane Kang is a Korean-American interdisciplinary artist based in San Francisco. Her practices are informed by Korean cultural traditions, history, local community, and personal memories. She plays in a traditional Korean drumming group called Kkiri Kkiri and was hired by the San Francisco Arts Commission to paint city-wide murals across the Mission District. As a recent alumnus of the 280 Project – a viticultural initiative to diversify the wine-making industry – she is in the process of experimenting with vinification in onggi, Korean fermentation vessels.

She explores how identity and traditions shift in the diasporic context, often contemplating on nature, death, food, transformation, and connection through communities.

She currently teaches and makes ceramics at The Pottery Studio and is the Beverage Director at The Lab.
